Welcome Message

Dear Colleagues:

It’s a great honor to welcome you to the Post-Congress meeting of the German-Japanese Society of Dermatology (GJSD) on the Chita Peninsula in Aichi prefecture.

The German-Japanese Joint Meeting has been held annually for more than 30 years, and our interactions have resulted in many valuable memories. The meetings facilitate the exchange of viewpoints, which contributes to a better understanding and progress in dermatology. These face to face meetings are important, and allow us to communicate our experiences to the next generation and to extend our interrelationships. We are planning a stimulating scientific program!

The Post-Congress will be held in the beautiful region of the southern part of the Chita Peninsula, which has much to offer. The southern end of Chita Peninsula is easy to access from the Nagoya Chubu International Airport. Minamichita is a lively town surrounded by the Mikawa Bay and Ise Bay, with mild weather, spectacular natural scenery including both the sea and mountains, and a very interesting history. Although small, the town has developed a unique culture. In addition to its natural beauty and culture, the people here are warm and friendly. You may wish to enjoy the hot springs, Minamichita Onsengou. Luxuriating in the soothing hot springs to relieve your muscle fatigue while taking in the stunning surroundings will allow you to experience supreme bliss. We highly recommend taking a dip in the hot springs at sunset to further enhance your hot spring experience! For your dining pleasure, excellent fresh seafood, such as octopus, sea bream, prawns, conger eels, young sardines, and shellfish, is caught locally and expertly prepared.

We warmly welcome you to the meeting and hope you will take advantage of our warm hospitality and enjoy your stay in Japan.

I am very much looking forward to seeing you soon,

Akimichi Morita, MD, PhD,
